Hawaii Senator Bennette Misalucha who attended the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Summit Nov. 3 – 5, 2021 in Tampa, Florida was an honored guest speaker at one of the NCSL sessions. In her presentation about digital equity and digital literacy, Sen. Misalucha emphasized that bridging the digital divide is crucial as ever as many families in Hawaii throughout the pandemic neither had or had limited access to computers or other digital devises, nor know how to use one. She urged that Hawaii is prioritizing broadband for A.L.L. (Access, Literacy and Livelihood) and working towards closing the digital divide across the state.
